Articles of Association
on behalf of the OGV Wilhelm Exner Medal Foundation as approved in the General Assembly of December 1921.
§1
On the occasion of the 60 anniversary of Wilhelm Exner`s membership with our association, OGV ( Österreichischer Gewerbeverein) has founded an award which is named „OGV Vienna Wilhelm Exner Medal“ in honour of Wilhelm Exner`s merits.
§2
Upon application of the administrative board this medal will be first awarded in the General Assembly in December 1921.
Thereafter, the board will – after consultation with the first awardees – present the candidates in the General Assembly of OGV which will award the medal .
The award is targeted at persons who have, directly or indirectly, enhanced trade and business through their scientific achievements, particularly those that have benefitted small and medium-sized businesses.
The General Assembly in May will receive annual reports, also in case the medal has not been awarded. The award ceremony is to be held in an extraordinary general assembly in autumn. All awardees are to be invited to this ceremony.
§3
The bronze medal is 7.5 cm in diameter, showing the portrait and name of Wilhelm Exner on its front side. The awardee`s name and the year of bestowal are found on the back side as well as the inscription „OGV Vienna Wilhelm Exner Medal“.
§4
The awardees are listed in the OGV roster; relevant biographical details and information on their achievements are entered in the DP register.

Upon application of the Administrative Board and consultation with the Wilhelm Exner Medal awardees, the General Assembly of OGV may change the present articles.
§6
Every third year the General Assembly of May will appoint the President of the Wilhelm Exner Medal Foundation for a term of three years. Ideally, this person will be chosen from the group of awardees and is a member of OGV. A second term is possible after three years.
§7
The responsibilities oft he President oft he Wilhelm Exner Medal Foundation are as follows:
- facilitating contact among the Wilhelm Exner Medal awardees according to the principles oft he Foundation
- maintaining relations between Wilhelm Exner Medal awardeess and the OGV according to its articles
- informing the OGV President and Board about all activities
- in case of issues beyond the terms as approved in the articles, adhering to the instructions of the OGV President.
